Alise Ponsero

I am a microbiologist and a bioinformatician within the “Food, Microbiome and Health” Institute Strategic Programme, and my expertise is the data analysis of metagenomic datasets.

I received my PhD in microbiology and cellular biology from the University of Paris-Saclay (France), working on the redox control of protein secretion in the baker’s yeast.

In 2017, I joined the lab of Dr Hurwitz at the University of Arizona (USA) as a postdoctoral researcher, working on the development of cyberinfrastructures for metagenomic data aiming to help microbiologists to share their data and run large-scale analyses on connected computing resources.

In 2021, I joined Dr Anne Salonen‘s group at the University of Helsinki (Finland), investigating the complex interaction between environmental exposures, gut microbiome and virome in the early life gut microbiota.
