EBAME 10 — Viromics Tutorial

Andrea Telatin and Evelien Adriaenssens returned to Brest, France, for the 10th EBAME Workshop on Computational Microbial Ecogenomics (October 11–25, 2025), delivering an updated hands-on viromics tutorial.

EBAME 2025

Our tutorial — Mining phage sequences from metagenomes — walks participants through a full viromics workflow: identifying viral sequences in metagenomic assemblies, backmapping reads to estimate viral abundance, building abundance tables, and visualising results with Anvi’o. An optional module covers NextFlow-based automation for scaling the analysis.

The material is openly available under a CC BY-SA 4.0 licence, and contributions are welcome via the GitHub repository.
