Introducing QIB Cloud 2.0

We are pleased to announce the launch of QIB Cloud 2.0, a new generation of private cloud computing built for researchers at the Quadram Institute Bioscience.

OpenNebula QIB Cloud

Modern microbial genomics research demands serious computing power. Assembling bacterial genomes, running taxonomic classifiers, benchmarking new pipelines — these are tasks that need flexible, on-demand resources rather than a fixed workstation. QIB Cloud 2.0 gives our researchers exactly that: virtual machines they can spin up in minutes, sized to the task, and shut down when the work is done.

The new platform is hosted on-site at the NBI campus, meaning data stays secure and close to the people who need it. It is a significant upgrade over our previous system, bringing improved reliability, faster networking, and more scalable storage.

QIB Cloud 2.0 is available to all researchers and bioinformaticians at the Quadram Institute.

To request access, open a support ticket with the Core Bioinformatics team.
